It's time for our second AAA post and this time we're giving you a very early listen to a track called We the people.
The version that you can stream from the player on the main AAA page is not even a first mix, it's a static monitor mix! This is essentially the first balance of track levels straight out of the sound desk, prior to any fancy mixing (i.e. before EQ, compression etc.); this is exactly how it sounded at the point of recording. You'll notice it's also a lot quieter than Splinters as it's not even had a first pass at mastering!
We've never given anyone access to these outside of the band so it really is a first; it will be great to see how this track develops when we get into mixing and final tracking.
The is one of the oldest songs that has made it into the album and is very much a call to arms. It was influenced by what the media coined as the Arab Spring; the series of protests and demonstrations across the Middle East and North Africa that commenced in 2010. The song, while not aligned with any particular political protest, was influenced by the sheer power of people uniting against a common goal; voices are louder together!
We hope you enjoy the track. Please let us know what you think!
